    what is a "read only" file


    Hi Guys

    I recently installed Libre, and a couple of saved spreadsheets, when opening them, it says "read only" or copy

    Any clues please, should have done a screenshot sorry, will do next time it happens.

    You cannot modify a read-only file.

    Copy them and see whether you can modify the copies.

    If it's open in another instance of the same program- or perhaps another program- it will also be regarded as R/O... but I would have thought you might have got a more specific message if that was so.

    If not, have a look at its properties and try changing the read only status (bottom left).
