So few more days and we can expect "Windows 9 Hate Club"-s popping all over the place.
Yes,, just as it occurred when Win8 came out.
My thought for the day, if you don't like it why complain.. no one is forcing you to use it.

Still waiting for one final bit of info before making my decision (hopefully mentioned soon), if this is reasonable then I will definitely be upgrading

How many ££ is it going to cost me
Hopefully those that preview/test it will get a free license.

I know which aspect of the system I will use :)

But I have read on other sites this option might not exist in final version
I know you have 8.1 on your tower and a WP8.1, but not sure how much Modern you use. Which aspect might not exist in final version? Would you please expound on both? Just curious is all.

The forum will definitely get too hot for the touch.

I use modern about 40% of the time, mainly the Bing/MS apps and the xbox music/video.
Desktop is mainly for the Office programs
IE I use in either, depending on where I happen to be at the time

From what I was reading on another site (might have been on WP Central) there has been mention that the option to select Start Screen or Start Menu is only there for testing during the beta period, once it is release this option might go and MS will decide which option best suits your machine

Depends on how you plan to upgrade.
    Update your existing OS?
Buy a new machine with Win 9 pre-installed?

My gameplan is to get a dvd installer and install it on a spare SSD on my current machine. I do hope there will be a release promo like the $40 win 8 pro before.

Thanks, Paul. :thumb: I was guessing you were about that percentage and that should be anyone's choice. Use how much of it one wants or not at all.

Hopefully MS won't make that mistake. I'm thinking it'll be a choice. Of course that depends on the device. If it doesn't support the desktop, then no choice.

I'm in 100% support of those that want choice, although I think eventually MS would like to port all things in the CP over to the Modern. That's about the only thing left so far as the system. File Explorer has Modern alternative via OneDrive app. IE with Modern/immersive. Office programs/suite is heavily rumored to be released in Modern. OneNote has Modern app. I'm expecting WMP and WMC to be ported over via Store app.

Question is will they keep both?

Do you think the day could possibly come, when MS designs their OS's to only run modern apps purchased through the store and no software from other vendors?

It's possible. But that day will also be known as MS' "doomsday".
