    Window is behind taskbar

    Windows 10 ver 22H2

A problem has occurred on my PC.
When I open an application its window at the lower edge is behind the windows taskbar ....

I can make it full size, or click and drag but it does not help it is still behind task bar.

It's as if all the windows are just a bit too big for the screen, I h ave 2 laptops and they do not work this way.

I attach example 1 ... you can see a Chat window I can't get to the chat section as it's behind the task bar

In the second example downloded files are behind taskbar so can't see which one I want.

    Right-click on the taskbar

    Select Taskbar settings

ON "Auto-hide the taskbar in desktop mode", then click Apply

Once the taskbar hides itself, you have access to the bottom of your window.

Grab the bottom of the window and move it up above the height of the taskbar

Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen to re-display the taskbar

    Right-click on the taskbar again

    Select Taskbar settings

OFF "Auto-hide the taskbar in desktop mode", then click Apply
    Right-click on the taskbar

(Also check "Lock the taskbar" and let it be OFF)

    ----------------------------------

You could also try restarting Windows explorer in Task Manager...

Those settings are already in place.
I’m not sure what you mean by restarting Windows explorer …. Doesn’t this happen each time you boot up the PC.

Restarting Windows explorer could sometime fix stuff that hangs...

Just right-click it in Task Manager and choose restart. Take two seconds.

Post #2? And in that you will see some things that had no effect in that case, including some of the above.

I’ll try these over the weekend,

It appears on laptops as the bottom of windows start ‘immediately above Task bar.
However on PC, it starts at the bottom of screen, I.e bottom of and behind the task bar.

resize the window so its all on screen, then close it. next time it will be ok.
if you want to recreate this, open a window, make it almost full size, then change screen resolution smaller. windows will go over the edges
