    Just a few things.

    1) Eset replied to my ticket and I have sent a log file created with their own program (Eset Log Collector).

    2) I sent also the problem step by step created with Windows Steps recorder program.

    3) In my situation the Eset program I'm using is Eset Smart Security 8.0.319.0

    4) I've
had no alarm for viruses. BUT if I check my Eset log files, the real time file system protector detected the day 16/09/2015 (When the problem with folder view appeared) in a program that I use since years (Roboform, that I was installing at that time) a trojan (a variant of MSIL / Injector.LWM trojans) then cleaned by deleting and quarantined by Eset. All this without any warning from Eset.
I did a search about this trojan and I've found this on Google and it points to ESET Virus Radar:

Whereby, definitely, even for me the problem with folder view comes after a virus detection.
Yes, I agree with you. now I had fresh install my PC (windows 10 x64) with Kaspersky Internet security as antivirus, until now that bug never come out. but.... I think Kaspersky doesn't more effective like eset for protection. I hope any solution to use eset in windows 10.

    *) Sorry for bad english

Yes I too feel same about Kaspersky and its settings are not user friendly. I'm using Comodo now and its quite good. I like the sandbox feature. You can run unknown or untrusted programs under sandbox. Bitdefender is also good but I feel its a heavy program.

I really have no idea how this problem is related to ESET Smart Security 8 (latest database).

If you are one of the people who still have ESET and have this problem, please do check the "Quarantined Files" section in ESET so that you can check whether ESET did something...and hopefully share it with the others so that everyone can have a happy Windows 10 life.

Neither do I . My Nod32's behaving, in fact I've tried to force it to misbehave, in depth scans, reboots etc .

I may have missed it somewhere but has anybody tried creating a new user profile and use that to see if the problem still exists?

Ok, my Nod32 system is unaffected. So out of interest here's all my installed updates. Check your updates and let's see if there's one in common that I don't receive that MAY be the culprit. I repeat MAY. There may be no difference but give it a try.

I will came back to the forum and report if the bug returns.
So far so good.. no problems detected! (I am still only with Windows defender and malware Protection Live that comes with Windows 10 by default).

I have made a program which deletes recent files and folders in recents folder. Its made using bat command and complied to exe using bat to exe tool. This is detected as potentially harmful software by most antivirus softwares and sends it to quarantine (Not to mention its false positive so I add it to exception). However, on reboot or after some time, folder view settings doesn't save nor the desktop icons arrangement.

For 2nd and 3rd time after I had reset or restored my system, the issue came back after plugging pendrive which had a virus and eset detected it.

Some of members have already said here that the issue is occurring after detecting a virus by eset and rebooting system. Do you think all of them have same type of virus? Nope!

The issue is mostly for users with ESS 9 beta and less for users with ESS version 8 and Nod32. You can try version 9 beta and get a virus to detected.

I have tried creating new user account but issue still persists.

    KB2565063 8/23/2015 MS Visual C++ 2010 X32 Redistributable - 10.0.10219 (1)

That's all: no update in the day the problem appears, the 9/17/2015 when I turned on the computer.
But it was the evening of the day before 9/16/2015 when Eset put in quarantine a trojan found in a downloaded program and that action is the only action in 3 weeks by my Eset.
And they are still in quarantine (appData\temp\....)

Still waiting an answer from Eset.

Are you asking for the trojan?

    If so,
9/16/2015 6:58:28 PM Real-time file system protection a variant of MSIL/Injector.LWM trojan cleaned by deleting - quarantined Event occurred on a new file created by the application: C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe

9/16/2015 6:59:23 PM Real-time file system protection file a variant of Generik.MTVHXQE trojan cleaned by deleting - quarantined Event occurred on a new file created by the application: I:\Downloads\Programs\roboform\RoboFormInstaller.exe.

And I notice only now the trojans are two different, occured in the same moment, when I was installing Roboform with the Chrome extension from a 7zip file.
