    Folder Icon color, Desktop Icons have paper overlay


    I Have been having two problems and they appear to be related.
    1. My Desktop Icons have what looks like a piece of paper on them. Not all but most. Seems like Shortcuts for .exe files don't have the paper.
    2. My Folders in File Manager have lost the yellow color that they had. They are now white, look just like the Files.
    I was given a file "Rebuid_icon_Cache.bat" from a Forum member.This works, but the problems come back after a Refresh of theDesktop, or after some time
    If I run "Rebuid_icon_Cache.bat" again the problems aregone again. I need to have this go away completely. Would a reinstall of Win 10 correct it?

    You don't have to do a re-install exactly... you can do an In-place upgrade.

    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade


    I think the ISO/Mount method is the best, fastest, and easiest.

Many icons on my desktop have no color and these seem to be the ones that keep moving around when the machine is shut down. Anybody have any suggestions?
