win 10 screwed up my photos folder's

before win 10 I had my photos (1000s ) all arranged in my picture (win 7 ) had em all catalogued and so forth
now win 10 in is infinite wisdom put them in folders according to date , beginning with the date I upgraded to win 10

any suggestions on how to unscrew them up ?

Right click inside the folder and check your options under 'Sort by...'

nope I get nothing that looks like that . just photos with dates 1000s of them

... if you right click on an empty space in the folder?

yea , that's what I tried , right clicking in an empty space ...nothing

there are no folders ...just photos ...they used to be in folders now its just single photos called albums with dates

and just to top it all off ...the photos are all mixed up . I have never dated a photo in my life

Is it possible that you're looking at the Photo App, and not This PC/Pictures? My Photo App is strange like that.
