How do you deal with windows that won't position correctly?

    Hello!

Windows Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.1550)

When I click on a work order at the bottom it'd be nice if it'd appear on screen rather than 9/10th off screen.

I cannot figure how to NOT have this window appear off screen.

I've dragged it back into the window and then closed it. And then re-open the work order and it's back off the side of the screen again.

This makes ZERO sense and it's been driving me crazy since about April when we call started to work from home. Just trying to make my life a little less painful!

Thanks for any and all help!
    Dave

Version 1803 reached end of life last year. Microsoft does not support that version anymore, you should update your system.

Have you tried out a different display resolution setting? My guess is that application was configured for a different resolution setting than what you have set on your PC.

If you have your settings at 1920x1080, try 1600x900 and you might be surprised what happens. Then adjust until you find it satisfactory.

That's IE, right? I fired up IE & procmon. The only registry key I found with values related to window size/position was:
    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Document Windows
    No guarantees, just first guess

Sometimes , holding down the Shift key and clicking on the X forces Windows to remember the location.

You're running a virtual box of Linux Mint inside a non-supported version of Windows 10? What happens if you do not run Linux Mint?

That's with IE- and what happens if you use a different browser?

If you work in a company, do others see the same thing happening?

After studying that screen shot on a larger screen, it appears that the OP is running Windows 10 on a VirtualBox inside of Linux Mint.

    Is this correct?

There's a cheat that might work: AutoHotKey
AutoHotKey is free. It can do lots of things. Mainly it allows you to create keyboard shortcuts.
But it also allows you to change the position of any window.

So repositioning your "errant" window from its mostly off-screen position to a location you prefer ... just requires a script.
    It requires some learning, though.
There's an online help manual, and an autohotkey.com forum.
