Windows 2004 freezing

    Freezing is often caused by driver and/or display adapter.
    Check Device manager for any flags.
    Look in Reliability History for entries at the problem event.If there are,then ---view tech details---lines 1and 2,might give info for a search.
    In the search box,type in ---dxdiag---and check the display page for any fault and also note down the driver details on the right hand side.
    Go to the maker's site only and download that driver,or later if available.
    If you can,use Display Driver Uninstaller [DDU] in safe mode to remove the driver,then install the new one.
    For the Graphics card,a removal,check and dust clean,then reseat making sure it is secure,A replacement could be expensive.

    Ive just discovered how to restart the graphics driver, ctrl, shift, win, b so will try that if it happens again then update the driver.
