Alternating boot failure at start-up; no error messages, just blank

Windows 10 64-bit fails to boot on every other power-on. I use a large power supply with an ATX switch - this is turned off every time I power down. Everything was working fine until recently, when this problem suddenly appeared.

I turn on the ATX power switch, press the power button, the BIOS screen displays normally, then nothing. No error messages, no beeps from the motherboard, no response from any input device. Nothing is displayed - just a blank screen.

I press the power button for several seconds to restart and everything is now perfectly normal. No problems of any kind - until the next power-up.

It sounds like your Intel is having trouble with the hybrid form of hibernation that Microsoft calls Fast Startup. Look in the advanced power settings and turn off Fast Startup. It tries to write a file of your settings on shut down, but has no effect on restarts. You can also disable hibernation by command line, which disables Fast Startup also. Powercfg -h off

Well, that was painless. It appears to have solved the problem, too!

    Thank you very much!
