This fixed the registry for me

" Run CMD as an administrator, and type this:

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\regedit.exe"

than type yes and enter. Than go to start menu, type regedit, click on it, and it will run!"

but Ccleaner is still not opening even after reinstall.

Thank You Darksaber2000, I searched several sites for the answer and none worked. Tried your simple one line in CMD and worked like a charm. I can now open regedit in Windows 10. I wonder if it is an update, I have kept the OS bang up to date. But thank you, you're a life saver :)

Just try "regedt32" instead of "regedit" .You will be able to access Registry Editor
Because in windows 10 policies has been changed.
Still you can find "regedit.exe" in C:\Windows\System32\regedit.exe.....But it will be just of 0Kb(s).
That's why running it was causing problem. Error comes This App cannot run on you PC
