what is wrong with windows 10 1909 latest update?

I've had some glitches with windows the last couple of weeks. Usually a reboot would fix the problem. Today I had problems with Hyper-v manager.opened the its window. Then it took several minutes before it would display the possible virtual machines. Click on one of them and it would take several minutes to display the virtual machines window. I then clicked start
and after a few minutes it would display that it could not connect. I rebooted the machine several times with the same results.
I also tried to start my beyondtv application. It would display it starting windows and then hang forever. This program has been running for many years. I also see problems with firefox being very slow to open and display usatoday.com. Seems to spend a lot of time looking up different sites used by the page.
Microsoft edge does not seem to have this slowness.

PS system is uptodate as of today. I checked for updates before having this problem.

Would it not be recommended then to uninstall update. I see you have Pro, delay all updates 60 days.

If you are not already using Imaging software this would be an excellent time to start.

One suggestion... lots of products out there. (Not Windows built in one)

Thanks for the response. I should add that I also had an issue that if I tried to switch users. The screen would go black and ctrl-alt-del would not work had to power fail to get the system back.
This network stack problem. Would it cause a ping using hostname on powershell to be very slow, but doing the same ping from a bash window would work fast?

Sorry I can't comment on the network stack.

If I'm having problems with Network I either reset Network or run these five commands. Sometimes I do both.

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
netsh interface ip delete arpcache (Reset Address Resolution Protocol cache)

Regardless if your machine is under such duress I would fallback. You seem to be having problems throughout OS.

As @Caledon Ken said, and since I showed you these updates can cause problems, it logically follows you should try uninstalling the update.

As you have Pro, use the Group Policy Editor to set updates to Notify- then you have to approve any update.

I uninstalled the KB4551762. The system rebooted. The first reboot logged in as normal. Screen went black stayed black. CTRL-ALT-DEL and switched user. Screen went black no CTRL-ALT-DEL. Reooted and logged in again. This time was able to login. Started BeyondTV and it worked. Opened hyper-V manager it also worked. Opened my virtual machine which also worked. A short time later. Some icons on the taskbar disappeared. The virtual machine window was not visable.
At this point nothing would start. Could not open the start menu. Nothing on the taskbar would open.
So I switched users to administrator. This worked, I then switched back to my screen and restarted beyondTV and open my virtual machine. Things seem to be working for now.

Not sure how your system is set up but I've seen a lot of black screens lately and I've just waited them out. I listen to HDD activity or look at the indicator if so equipped. As long as there is real activity I wait. When do indicator and the user is on an SSD I still wait but set a deadline.

Are you imaging your system. If not I really recommend you do. This software is free and there are other tools out there, just not the one built into Windows please.

A lot of members here will image regularly and especially before patch Tuesday. Update heads south out comes Macrium for a restore.

Glad to hear your system is operational, now delay updates or make the changes to Group Policies. Take care.

Aren't updates supposed to be installed in the same order on each PC? I have three PC with windows 10 1909 and they each have the update installed in a different order?

No. If you miss this update you with get in next month patch cycle.
