    Duplicate file finder recommendations?

I have a bunch for directories full of photos that I'm trying to organize and remove duplicates. Many of these duplicates have different file names.

You might need to try a few to see what suits you, and you'll need a program that not only checks filename/date/size/type whatever, but also checks contents (that way, you'll find duplicates with different names).

    Windows Search: duplicate

Also ccleaner has a duplicate file option, including content checking.

The most difficult (impossible?) to find are renamed files that have been resized

Unfortunately for the purpose of Windows, or any other operating system, those are not duplicate files so a third-party software would be needed that can read the contents of the files. There's severally available on the Internet found by a search such as Duplicate Photo Finder [WebMinds].

Fortunately, most of them are different in filename only. Metadata (date created/modified) could be different I suppose.

    Frustrating problem to have!
