    Search issues with PC

    Hey!

I just installed Windows 10 on my laptop and when I search for something there's more results unlike my PC. For example when I search 'update' on my laptop it comes up with the 'Check for Updates' system setting but when I do the same on my PC the only thing that appears is the check for updates for java. It's not a massive problem but it can get annoying occasionally. Any one have an idea on how I could get it back like my laptop? When my PC first installed W10 it came up as a result but not anymore.

    Thanks.

Besides the term Windows Update can you provide more specific examples? Also the reasons for different results or lack of results can be differences in version of updates, Home vs Pro, software and programs installed, type of HDD/SSD, and so on. Please provide more details regarding your computers and more examples regarding searches and results.

It seems now to just be the settings app and the parts within the app that won't show up when searching on my PC. Or at least that's all I can see right now. For example, searching for 'activation' on my laptop comes up with the activation under system settings and also has 'see if windows is activated.' For my PC however, all I get it 'contact support.' It's a small issue as I can still search for settings and the main app appears so it is not a massive problem however it can get slightly annoying at times because I have to do it the longer way around.

I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on both my computers - similar software as well. When I first got Windows 10 on my PC the system settings searches appeared just like on my laptop but then it just seems like they 'disappeared' from search.
