Windows 10 upgrade worked, now stuck on lock screen
Hello!
Windows 7 sp1 to Windows 10 upgrade went well at first**. I was poking around the Windows 10 OS for a little while looking at an App or two. . . .
I chose to reboot. Now my machine boots to the lock screen. I see a photo background, the correct time and date (time updates properly) and one icon in the bottom right corner: the ethernet connection icon.
Of course, the mouse and keyboard work fine in the BIOS environment.
**At first, my full setup with multiple monitors, ATI Radeon 5770 video card, gaming mouse and keyboard worked perfectly well. This issue happened after my first manual reboot: start menu>reboot
Once I'm looking at the Lock Screen there is no response to the usb keyboard's input, nor usb mouse's input.
My PC setup at the moment:
(video card/multiple monitors removed, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse removed)
One monitor connected to the on-board video DVI output
basic usb keyboard and mouse connected (MoBo does not have PS/2 ports)
All systems are fully updated and well maintained:
CPU: Intel i7 (I don't remember the specific kind - Sandy Bridge generation, I think)
C: drive: Samsung 840 pro SSD
mother board: P8Z68-VGEN3
16gb RAM
