    Windows 10 problem

Hello, Problem #1 When I right click on "File Explorer" on the task-bar it takes a long time for the context menu to pop up. Problem #2 When i go into Start - Settings - Update & Security, it stall for awhile to open. There's a little video I have made that might help. Does anyone have the same problem?

    Thank you!

Open the PowerShell (just type “powershell” into the Start menu Search, then right-click it and “Run as administrator”) and enter the following command:

    Code:
    Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
That will re-register and reinstall all Windows apps, hopefully getting the Settings app (and others) back to full working order.

Please tell us when the problem(s) started to happen .... update or installing a new program or other. The more information you can give, the better we will understand and can lead you in the right direction.

Since I have build this computer in March 2019 I have noticed this problem when right clicking on file explorer the context menu
would take along time to pop up, then I noticed when going into setting update & security it would also hang and no matter how many times you click on it, nothing reacted until it opened to check for updates.I thought maybe this was a bug and when Microsoft did there updates every month hoping they would fix it. I guess it could be a any program I have installed. I guess I'll have to reinstall Windows 10 and start from there.

    Thanks

Hi, Settings- Windows Update shouldn't be so slow.

Please confirm your PC is nominally idle (e.g. CPU use under 3%, disk use 0)

From a command prompt try this:
    PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *immersivecontrolpanel*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

    - from
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10

to re-register Settings for the current account.

If still slow, I suppose it could be a Windows Update issue, or pointing to other problems.

Please post a screenshot of your task manager just after clicking 'Update and Security' in Settings.

As a matter of routine, please run
    chkdsk c: /scan
from an admin command or Powershell prompt and advise the summary result.

Jump list display time: (that's not the explorer context menu you're concerned about- so Shellexview should not be relevant).
I find it's a little slow first time, then faster subsequently.

Have you tried sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth to see if they have any success?
    Might be worth a try.

Settings: please create a new user for test purposes. Log in as that user. Do you see the same delay?
If not, it's a problem in your current user profile or configuration.

    You could try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

    Jump lists: try
Reset and Clear Recent Items and Frequent Places in Windows 10
