Problems After January 12th 2016 Update

    Since the January 12th 2016 update my laptop/Win 10 has gone hey-wire.

If laptop sits idle for awhile, the Windows 'button' (and the Win key) do not work ... I powered off and rebooted - win key came back but during reboot got several extraneous windows.

Suspect maybe the update didn't go correctly but don't know how (or even if it's possible) to force the update to 'go' again.

You could try the Dism repair and see if that fixes it. Try uninstalling the Keyboard driver, reboot and see if that fixes things.

unistalled keybd drvr ->rebooted ... maybe changed ... paid more attn - windows (seemed to be automatic) jumped from full screen to 'restore down' (small window) then moved cursor to window and it jumped to maximum size.

You should delete files in Windows/software distribution/downloads. It has worked fine for me many times in such problems.

Think found the problem ... was testing a Logitech wireless mouse ... using their Unifying software connection. It worked as soon as I removed their dongle and went back to previous mouse.

    Thank everyone for their suggestions

I never did use that software with my mouse, because it really does not add any extra features. It works in those kinds of situations, where you may have a couple of people in a conference wanting to control a presentation.

As long as you do not install the Unifying software, the mouse should work. I have a Logitech M525 mouse and never had issues not loading the extra software. No need for it, unless you plan on the scenario I posted above.

Remove all traces of that software, plug in the mouse and it should work fine.

Same thing happened to me yesterday!( Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3124263))
Update broke the office and what not!! I could not connect to network. Could not diagnose the network. Quick Heal got corrupted. Firewall was closed. Finally un-installed the update. Some how connected the network. Removed Quick Heal.
    Now start menu won't open.

I faced strange behavior of my laptop too. When I'm booting my laptop and Windows logo appear just for one second laptop go off. After that I'm booting again and it's OK. What can I do? Roll back from KB3124263?
