    Search Problems - Setup

When I first used the search icon in the tool bar, it asked me for my name. I typed it in but the keyboard was slow and it missed the last letter of my name. How can I correct that - can't seem to find anything that remotely leads me to that. Second when I click to open it, EVERY single time it asks me for my Microsoft Account, and I dutifully sign in - but every time? What is going on here?

Hi fgcook and welcome to Ten Forums,

For your first question. Click on the Search bar, than navigate to the Notebook and click on About Me.

    Than simply select Change Name.

Now you can type in your new name.

Question number two, are you on a local account or a MS account?

When I click the search icon/bar I only get three icons - Home, Settings, Feedback? I have also searched for Notebook - nothing applicable comes up. Regarding #2, I should be on a MS account.

    That's strange.

Are you on a Windows 10 test build?

In looking to determine which account I am in, it has gotten very interesting. The account which I am/was in was the account that I did the update from. I get confused quite easily especially since the introduction of O365 to our systems. The account I was in had all of my software and apps, including Outlook, set up the way I use it. When I went to sign into another "profile" using my MS account, I then got a new desk top, with some of my apps - not all, but my normal photo came up in the id (the original profile did not have my phone?) but Outlook was not even setup? Before I discovered all of the issues, I was able to fix Edge and I was able to find the Notebook icon in the search bar? However now I have issues...I need to get the one profile working and really don't know where to go from here?

    Hmm...

It sounds like it didn't upgrade very well. We could try to fix each of your problems, but it could take awhile. Another idea would be to do a clean install of Windows 10 which would fix everything, BUT. You would have to back up everything and re-install all of your programs.

    Disregard my last suggestion.

It would be better if you just upgrade again. It will keep all your files untouched as well as your programs. Just do the upgrade using this tool. Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation - Windows 10 Forums

Thanks Chuck - I think I am going to get our tech support company involved in the update as they have some anti-virus etc running on my laptop. They are not real excited about working with 10 yet, but obviously they need to get up to speed sometime. Thanks for your help.
