Network icon in tray has yellow triangle but net works fine

Hi,

Last night I bit the bullet again & upgraded to windows 10 & then did a clean install. I have noticed that the network icon in the system tray shows a yellow triangle & says no access but I can surf fine with chrome & use qbitorrent etc.

The only way I can get rid of the yellow triangle is to disable the network adapter & then re enable it.

Not using any third party firewall as private fireall doesn't support windows 10.

Any ideas?

Try uninstalling your network adapter but don't tick the box where it says "delete driver" then rescan for hardware changes.

I had some instability problems with the generic Windows 10 wireless network driver on one of my pc's. Re-loading the driver from the original mfg fixed the problem. Even if it's a Windows 7 or 8.1 driver, it may work better than the generic Windows 10 driver.

Cheers for the suggestion. Tried that but same thing happened after a reboot. I had forgot that I downloaded windows 10 realtek lan driver from asus's support site for my motherboard. Updated the driver through device manager & now there is no yellow triangle after a reboot.

Yeah the windows 10 realtek lan driver from asus's support site fixed the issue thankfully, strangely they seemed to have removed it now as it not listed on asus's support site.
