HIdden Files not shown

I have around 15 hidden files in c:\ that don't show up in file explorer even with 'show hidden files' checked in view options. Is this something Microsoft is doing deliberately? How do I get them to show up?

How do you know the hidden files are there?

I knew that they should be there, but the only way I was for sure was to use Wiz Tree. Very nice little app.

Hidden items will have faded icons when they are set to show.

Thanks Brink and everyone else who replied. Hidden items were shown. But the system files were not. Following Caledon Ken's instruction, I was able to bring them up.
