Did that fix the issue? My issue corresponds to the following message in the event viewer:

The server {79701C41-C345-47EC-B57C-02C39A698A0D} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout

I did a scan with Malwarebytes and found some adware had found its way in. Removal of the adware files seems to have fixed my issue.

Great, maybe you should also do a sfc /scannow as admin to make sure your files are in order.

Jati...Are you suggesting that it is an AVG problem?

I had that problem cause from AVG IS. Have to uninstall and re-download the latest from vendor and reinstalled.
    Now the screen stop flashing.

I'm having a similar issue. Every 30-60 seconds a small window will flash in the corner of the screen. It comes and goes to quickly to identify what it is. I tried disabling all the non-microsoft stuff in the startup portion of msconfig. Nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this. It is really annoying!
I am having the exact same problem but it did not start (on Windows 10 Home) for me until the 1511 upgrade. It is quite irritating and I cannot find out what is causing it. It also then keeps the computer from going into sleep mode.
Did you ever find a fix?

Apparently they did, per post # 13.

As far as your sleep mode problem, you might want to start by disabling "fast startup", if you haven't tried that already, to see if problematic behaviors change. Good instructions for that are found at this link: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html

I think once I fix the flashing window problem, the computer will go into sleep mode OK, I will try Malwarebytes. Thought there might be another solution, but anything is worth a shot.

The Malwarebytes solution appears to have worked. :)

And the computer has resumed going to sleep during periods in inactivity. The flashing windows were keeping it active. Thanks for the help.
