Ok, i concede- you got me there. I couldn't program my way out of a paper bag. I can see the potential of OS. I guess i am so disappointed in Windows [i have been there every step of the way since 98] i feel progress is going backwards. I feel they started 10 steps back with win 10 and now they want us to wait while they catch up where they should have begun. I guess i'm more dissapointed with the brains our colleges are turning out. It's like our youth has not progressed in the last ten years. Is mediocrity the now accepted norm?
Sometimes, you have to start over. And it takes some time. Windows had reached the point where it needed to be rewritten, but rather than do this all at once, it's happening in much smaller steps.
Sometimes, when they introduce a new feature in the "new" part of the OS, they have to remove it from the "old" part of the OS, even though the new feature may not be as mature as the old one was. New versions of Windows will come much more frequently though, every 3 or 4 months, so you don't have to wait 2 years for the next OS.

[QUOTE=Wynona;315190]Well, this kid remembers it all, DeathStalker! How far back can I go with DOS? And before that was a Xerox dedicated word processor with a mouse built into the keyboard!
You're right; it's just the Operating System. So far I can run any program I want to on Windows 10. Most of my programs run just as fast as ever, and maybe even faster.[/QUOTE
Young-uns, us old folk started out using smoke signals- you guys were late to the party by several decades........
