those very stable claim, u guys only use win10 for browsing only/ lite usage?
although there maybe not many issue that cause freeze, but there bunch report on various win10 issue
TDR is one of popular issue in win10, not sure who to blame, ms or nvidia/amd... TDR can lead to freeze/crash in event that driver cant recovering
then xbox one controller issue with kb3140741... i am getting dwm.exe crash with controller plugged and play game
i can name many more windows10 issue, suchs wifi/networking issue

and that dont move computer is really funny, except the hardware parts not plugged properly or moving pc harshly (throwing around)
it safe enough to move pc, because the most pc parts, use "clipping lock" beside screws

I game a lot and have no issues. I've worked on Windows 10 laptops that have freezing issues, and had to resort to doing clean installs to get them to not freeze. Although 2 of the laptops I've fixed still have very slow login issues, which really sucks.

Windows 10 RTM 10240 had its issues, but I'd rather run that than 10586.

Hi! I have been getting these random freezes a couple of times now which locks up the entire system and forces me to do a hard restart and i have tried EVERYTHING to resolve it, but no luck. I tried updating all drivers to the newest, did a sfc /scannow which repaired all the corrupt files, firmware update of HDD and defragging the HDD.
I know there is nothing wrong with my hardware because this ONLY happens in Windows 10 and not in Windows 8.1. This is the 2nd time i'm installing Windows 10 to see if the issue was resolved somehow, but nope. Also tried with a upgrade and with a clean install 2 times.

Does anyone have any tips or fixes for this? It's really starting to drive me crazy..

I suffered the same problem. After doing a thorough clean up of the disk and using a different restore point, it still kept freezing.. I therefore uninstalled Google Chrome and installed Mozilla Firefox and all is working just fine now, hasn't frozen for over a week however I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I didn't find my issue addressed yet in this thread, although it is completely possible I just missed it.

Ever since I installed Win 10 Pro (clean install from Vista Pro) my system locks up after a few minutes of my screensaver starting. I have disabled the screensaver and had the system run for days (both performing a back-up and sitting idle) without a lock-up (just turned monitor off), yet if I enable the screensaver it will inevitably lock up within a few minutes of the screensaver starting. I have an older Gateway desktop, Intel Core Quad CPU at 2.66 GHz, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 1 GB video RAM. Any help or ideas for a non-techie would be greatly appreciated.

    wait redstone build:
Whatt - in Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14279 for PCs [Update]

"We’re investigating an issue in which some Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book devices experience a freeze or hang and all input such as keyboard/trackpad and touch do not work. The workaround is to hold down the power button to force the device to hard-reboot.
We are continuing to track several issues reported by Insiders where some PCs will freeze or bluescreen when resuming from hibernation. Disabling hibernation is a workaround in some cases until this is fixed"

    Pessimistic. Hibernation disabled, still issues.

Just made an account to write this.

I had constant, but random freezes only on desktop multiple times a day. Never while playing. Also read the whole thread because of that so everyone who has contributed, thank you. My computer was just bought so I had a clean install of Win 10.

I've tried multiple things earlier inc. updating all the drivers, adjusting power settings but what has so far worked was to remove Chrome completely. I haven't had any freezes in the last two days. I can keep you updated about the situation, but I'm pretty positive as before I encountered the freezes multiple times per night.
