    Hello Rob,

You might see if downloading and merging the .bat file in step 4 of Option Two in the tutorial below may be able to restore your Desktop folder.

Brink, thank you for your reply and suggestion. I ran the .bat file, rebooted and it did not fix my issue.

As a test, create a new folder named Desktop in your C:\Users\Robda folder, and see if its folder icon turns to the usual desktop icon instead of folder. You may need to restart.

OK, you are on to something! I tried creating a new folder named DESKTOP per your suggestion in Robda user account and Windows asked me if I wanted to merge with another folder named MUSIC. Yes I said MUSIC. Then I noticed that I somehow have 2 folders named MUSIC in user account Robda. When I open one of the music folders, all of my Desktop files are there! So should I simply rename the incorrect Music folder to DESKTOP?Desktop is missing-2018-09-12-16_55_07-desktop-missing-windows-10-forums.png

    Interesting.

Yes, let's rename the first "Music" folder (without the music icon) back to "Desktop", run the .bat file again, restart, and see how it goes.

Strange; the correct Desktop icon is now back but I still don't have a CUSTOMIZE tab. Ay ideas?
