To provide accurate information for you specifically, please download and install Belarc Advisor, run it, then attach the final html report, as I'd like to do some research and that would be a tremendous help. The final html report lists sensitive info, like your laptop's serial number, or personal info, such as usernames, IP, etc,so please remove that info from the report (you should be able to open it in notepad [I recommend Notepad++ or opening it from within PowerShell ISE], use search, and remove the applicable info).

    • Please see my reply to @Grzegorz below, specifically the text in dark red, as it describes a better way to accomplish the removal of sensitive information

I believe it should also list the hardware you have installed, as I'm going to need to know the exact component model #'s of certain things, such as the WiFi card, to determine the proper driver for it. I should be able to get back to you sometime tomorrow with a decent reply.
Done. And thanks a lot in advance.

    Thanks for uploading those

I won't have time tonight to review them, but will tomorrow. I should be able to compile all the info needed into a decent reply sometime tomorrow night, however, worse case scenario is I may get some research done, but not all, tomorrow, pushing the final post until Sunday. I'll leave a reply here tomorrow letting you know either way, as well as an update on progress made.

    That's an announcement.

Would wish even one IT-enterprise would behave this way.
    Thanks a lot!

I get freeze, usually internet loss and then slowly everything gets frozen, often on videos online. Am I right - you have similar problem and 54 pages with 0 solution? I see reinstall helps nothing. Should i go to 8.1? LAN driver reinstall, but cant find any proper driver besides automatic one. I have eliminated alot of stuff following event viewer errors, still nothing.

So, update. I don't experience BSOD. i did have an issue with my monitors just shutting down, system still seems to be running, but cannot get my screens back. after adjusting some voltages within my bios that issued has cleared up. now my only main issue is mouse and keyboard become unresponsive. I have them both plugged directly to the USBs on the PC itself. I have only used the drivers provided by Microsoft, and a windows 10 Display driver from Nvidia. I do have a few legacy components hooked up. an old logitech webcam(which drivers came from Microsoft) and a dell USB hub that's built into my monitor. I checked my event viewer, it has an Event 12 HAL error, and an event 10010 DistributedCOM telling me the cortanaUI app failed to register with DCOM.. with the Event 12 it says I would more than likely have to update my system firmware, but I'm already running the latest BIOS for my board. (ASUS striker II extreme BIOS version 1402) I'm going to try running the SFC, see if that comes up with anything. But for updating my BIOS I'm at a loss, unless I contact ASUS about my BIOS. is there any setting that should be adjusted within windows 10 to operate smoothly with legacy BIOS since I don't have a UEFI? Honestly I've been busting my head for the past couple months with these issues, so please don't say I haven't been trying to help myself. Any help would be appreciated. I'll post back if file check comes up with anything corrupt, also getting insider builds from this point on. thanks!

UPDATE: did a complete scan of any corrupt files, came back no issues there.
Hi there, registered hoping you can help. I'm having the same experiences you posted in this thread; my Striker II Extreme is causing lockup issues, specifically my monitor output shutting down randomly. I saw that you solved this bit by adjusting your voltages but didn't give any details. Can you help me understand what you did here?

    Thanks,
    Matt

Been reading all the pages of this thread and I have the same problem with random lockups. I have found my LG DVD drive was causing errors in the Event Viewer and I have unplugged the drive and haven't had any lockups for hours till I plugged my DVD drive back in and I got a lockup. Check the Event Viewer it does help, thanks for all the info it has helped

BTW everytime Win freezes I can read about error-ID 6008 in the event-logs, saying nothing special -- it means: HW oder SW or anything or nothing.

I thought I would just join the forum and the discussion because I have just fixed the self same issue by resetting and updating the bios. It was already up to date but reloading the up-to-date version did the trick.

I had tried all of the above with no success prior to that. Not sure if that will help anyone else, but just in case...

I'm willing to try that but I'm not computer literate... what are the detailed steps
