Rejected from returning to Win 8.1

I Just installed Windows 10 free upgrade from Windows 8.1 last night and like a lot about Windows 10 better but I am getting a lot of error files when trying to open files saying things like:

"Can not complete the task because there is not enough space on your computer..." - when there is well over 80 gigs of Free Space remaining.
    -or-
"Location is not available ... The file or folder is corrupted or unreadable" .... when the files seem to be in perfect order.

Worst of all for me is when I open a JPG in my photo software, everything goes fine except the photo displays as one black square ... but will key up in Paint perfectly.

So because of all the bugs, I decided I want to get out of the Windows 10 nightmare and go back to the Windows 8.1 nightmare. Only when I try to do that, more errors pop up blocking me from doing so.

I go into Settings/Update & Security/Recovery and Click the option to Go Back to 8.1 ... only this error pops up:

"The procedure entry point ?GetArchitectureString@OperatingStringUnBCL@@SAPEBK@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library. C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\SetupPlatform.dll."

I've searched the error on Google for a solution and they don't even pop up a hit so I suppose I am the only one receiving that error.

So now I am stuck in Windows 10 getting error files galore and can not even return to my previous Windows system where I wasn't ever receiving any of these errors at all.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do in order to get my Windows 8.1 back please?

Create a Win 8 disk and clean install.

One question before I do that ... if I was to do a clean install with Windows 10 instead of the Upgrade that I have already done, would the errors stop? And most of all would I be able to key up JPG photos in that Photo software that worked fine in Windows 8.1?

Or should I just go back to 8.1 instead?

You could also give the trial version of EaseUS System GoBack a try.

    Okay this is weird.

All of those error files I told you I was getting yesterday ... have all stopped!

When I cut my laptop on earlier, it automatically went into repairing drives, etc and I think that is what fixed it.

So all the files/folders errors are no longer there ... but I still can't key up photos in my photo software without it coming up as a solid black image.

If anyone knows how to fix that, I may like to keep Windows 10.

Never mind, I figured the problem out. Here is the fix in case anyone should run into the same problem of images viewing as solid black images in Photoware using Windows 10:

    1. Go to Tools from the Menu ... then Options ... then Display then DISABLE Direct Draw. (Note it's usually clicked as Enable so click it to Disable the feature.)

    2. Click Apply. Then "Okay"

If the image is not viewing after that then close the software and reopen it. The image should be viewable in the software now and you are ready for editing.

By the way, this was for Picture Publisher 10.

Now all of my bugs in Windows 10 are fixed and I think I love it way more than I did Windows 8.1

    Thanks
    :)
