    Task bar malfunction, Windows 10

I'm running Windows 10 and the taskbar has started misbehaving. In particular, the Start button has become unresponsive all the time and the File Explorer icon intermittently so. Any ideas?

    Hi Brahma56.

I had a very similar experience just the other day. I think you will also find that if you do get Start to respond and try clicking on settings it to will not be responsive. Ran sfc /scannow and no issues found.

This was a machine running V1709. I fixed it by running an in place repair. I had bootable V1709 media that I could use.

What version build are you running? Windows key + R, type winver, enter.

If you follow this tutorial and use the MCT now it will upgrade you to V1803, something I wouldn't be rushing into if MS hasn't already upgraded your machine.

You can get older media from this site.

I believe they mine currency, instead of ads, but you can say NO. I said no, took a couple extra minutes to get file.
