    remotely wipe information

    so this is my issue:

I recently bought a laptop and immediately added my dropbox, one drive and gmail. during the night i left it on and woke up to a dead battery, i then went to charge it but found out that the device is faulty and would not charge so i sent it back however my accounts are still on there.
Is there a way to remotely wipe the accounts from this device?

    I'm sorry to say....No there isn't.

You could try and contact whomever you sent it to and see if they will work with you on pulling the the HDD and send that back to you. Or just ask them to wipe the drive completely. Then can you really trust them at their word.

I'm assuming you have another working PC since you're posting here.

The first thing you need to do is change passwords to every account that's on that laptop. Once you change the gmail password, Google will get all paranoid and notify you that someone may be trying to get into your system. When they notify you, be sure that what they're seeing is what you've done to protect yourself and not some dishonest person at the vendor. That said, large vendors are pretty trustworthy, so you shouldn't have problems.

So, if you've listed every account you put on the computer, change your Microsoft Account password (OneDrive), your DropBox password and your gmail password. Once this is done, the passwords should no longer work on the defective laptop you returned. You should be good to go after that.
