Sorry, I think you've missed the point which is "less and cheapest personnel".
That's why official releases are a kind of beta.

As for insiders, they're just volunteers in a glorious profit...not for them of course.

Why would I care who makes a profit, that' job for IRS and such ? Also, official releases are not any kind of beta. If it was, all current OS are beta too. All but dead ones are work in progress.

This is a good question but is not for this forum... Also, I do not agree with what a beta is, but it's your opinion and I respect it.

but all are forced to that damned "upgrades". As margrave55 wrote, last "upgrade" heavily damaged his system. And he is not alone. This is the problem, insiders are irrelevant.

A couple of observations: One is that Win10 is being characterized asWindows as a Service, as mentioned will be continually Upgraded and updated. Historically a program having a larger number assigned to it was an Upgrade, more complete than an update [equate update to the Service Packs of previous versions of Windows]. Another thing is that there are no 2 computers in use that are exactly alike, even buying 2 at the same place same time are identical until turned on and something done, program installed, settings different from each other. All these add up to the fact there will be issues seen and reporting them helps with the next Upgrade or update, even on your friends, neighbors, girlfriends, co-workers computer/s.
No two computers being the same is a good example of why updates shouldn't be forced. And no novice users computer should ever be used by MS or any company as a test machine. They should use only their employees and those that are willing to volunteer as testers.

That's why, as insiders report, all of the current built issues, have been resolved...

Join MS and be the best! (debugger)
They have? I must have been away when that happened.

If I didn't get those "damned" updates I would complain.

Please try to distinguish between updates and upgrades.

Anyone using a device with Windows 10 is a tester for MS. Not including those that are not working for MS. Skip Ahead users are the first testers. Insiders are the second testers. The general public are the final testers. Trying to stick to a 6 month release schedule is't working. All it does is create major headaches for a very large number of users.
