How can I switch between tablet mode easily?

I know I can use settings, but that is a pain (too many steps). Would there be a one click (or double click) way to change this (toggle it?). Thanks.

If you press Win + A it will open the action center, on the bottom there is a button to toggle tablet mode on/off

Hello Mark, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can also toggle tablet mode on and off from the Action Center. See OPTION TWO below for more details. :)

Tablet mode is greyed out for me? It wasn't in the past, not sure what I did to kill it though? Noticed it greyed out on my desktop PC and my laptop. It was something I changed but have no idea what that was?

Do you need to have a touch device for it to be clickable maybe?

I could switch to tablet mode in windows 8.1, even with no touch screen. It appears, from a Google search. If you have external monitors connected its disabled in windows 10. I'll confirm this on my laptop, but not tonight. I've had a few, . I use a USB 3 external monitor on it. I have a triple monitor setup on my desktop PC. All are connected to my Video card though?

On my laptop, if I have my external USB 3 connected monitor connected, and set to extend. Tablet mode is greyed out. If I switch to PC only screen mode, its not greyed out and I can select it. if I then then switch back to extend, I get a popup saying exiting tablet mode.

Edit: neither screen is a touch screen.

Interesting. Tablet mode had worked on my desktop in earlier builds of Windows 10, but just not in the RTM. I'll have to do some more testing as well.

I'm pretty sure it worked in windows 8.1 on my desktop, that has 3 monitors. Now it doesn't in windows 10. I'm going to try switching to PC Only for screen mode on it and see what happens. i'm chilling out on my deck with my laptop right now so it likely won't be until tomorrow some time. It's just to nice to go inside right now.

Same deal on my desktop PC. Switch to PC only for display mode and I can select tablet mode. Switch it back to Extend and I get the notification that "You have just left tablet Mode". Must be the auto detect switch automatically, or what ever it is that's doing it. Put your tablet in a dock with a second display attached and it switches out of tablet mode type of thing? Only this is a desktop PC with 3 monitors?
