    Installing Windows to SSD

I had just finished installing Windows to my SSD when I realized I forgot to take the existing files on my HDD desktop install and moving them elsewhere. Are these files now lost, as Microsoft's wording when trying to reinstall Windows to my HDD is very ominous, as I can cannot "upgrade" from the bootable media.

Edit: If it wasn't obvious, I DO wish to keep all the files currently on my HDD. If I have to sacrifice my desktop files for my ignornace then so be it.

Nevermind, after some exploring you can find your old desktop by navigating to "\Users\NAME\Desktop" through the old HDD.
