Thanks I'm gonna play it safe then. Less hassle the better I say.

Last year, mine were upgraded the first day of launch when the Creators Update launched. As for the 30th, will it start rolling out on the 30th and onwards or will we have to manually upgrade to it if we want it on the 30th?
So, what happens if I download the ISO using MCT on May 8th? Will I get a newer version? Is it safe to download it as soon as it is available (from April 30th onwards)?
Hi there
I'm testing the old (1803.1) version on a "junk PC" so I don't care if the whole thing doesn't work, riddled with errors etc
Then I'll try and force an update and see what happens
Don't know why people were complaining about slow downloads -- Server speed seemed OK to me.
Note though this is not the official latest builds that you get on the insider rings although it is genuinely from Ms servers -- use A.Y.O.R, back your current system up before using if using on a computer you regularly use and unless you have a spare machine I'd go for a VM if you really want to test. Convert esd to ISO as explained in the forum and agaion A.Y.O.R.
I changed the file name for download - so nothing wrong there either.
BTW You can still get activation from old qualifying W7 (and W8/W8.1) keys - how long that will work -- no idea though. I'm still using some from my old TechNet subscription keys. !!
cheers

I would not advise anyone to do anything for the next few days, with the potential for the release to be later today, there is a high chance that Microsoft servers will get a refresh at any time
I am on Insider preview version 17134.5, release preview ring. What's the easiest way to get out of IP and be on the stable build of April 2018?
