Hello Chenzo, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Using the tutorial below doesn't add it back for you?

    Thanks for the answer.
No, it does not. It was the first thing I tried.

OK it's back. Just D/L'ed the latest update from Microsoft and it's back. So strange.

Wow this is getting frustrating... Now the Start menu won't pop up at all. It only happens once and a while and a restart solves the problem but, come on already...

    Chenzo, :)

Does only restarting explorer help when this happens?

If so, then you could add the restart explorer context menu in the tutorial below to make it easy to do for now.

Thanks I'll let you know how it works but I shouldn't have to do it at all and having to put a addition in my context menu to solve a problem that shouldn't exist is not acceptable.

Never had these problems with win 7. If things don't change soon I'm going back to 7 or 8.1. In fact now that I think about it, 8.1 was WAY more stable than this piece of junk.

Did not change a thing. In fact, the what the tutorial said to do did not work at all. Don't sweat it. If things don't change soon I'm going back to 7.

    Thanks for your help.

Hello, I am Avefenix. I have joined specifically for the same reason. The very first thing this tutorial says is 'go to the settings app', which Chenzo and I are trying to put back on the start menu.

Hello Ave, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

There's more than one way to open Settings (Win+i) to be able to do so.

Nice. Thanks for the very useful information but it does not solve the problem. Even after the latest update the settings button still disappears once and a while and sometimes the whole start menu won't come up till I do a restart.

Once again thanks for the info and taking the time.
