I'm not sure what you did to be honest? How did you originally move your documents folder, and why?

Peter,
If you haven't already, see if using step 4 in OPTION TWO of the tutorial below may be able to restore the default location.

I have a OneDrive and OneDrive for business listed in my Start menu. The for business I believe is tied to my office 2016 install. They both have an uninstall option if I right click their start menu icon. Maybe uninstall and reinstall Onedrive? If that's possible?
THANK YOU so much for this post. I registered for a forum account just to say thanks. I've been struggling with a similar issue all morning on my Surface Book. My Documents and Pictures folder under my user were stuck as onedrive folders and I could not get them un-linked. The batch files in the article you wrote and linked to worked perfectly!! Thank you!! Utterly disgraceful that OneDrive does not have a way to easily and obviously detach itself from your folders.
I had a similar issue but have managed to resolve it by hacking the registry.
Open REGEDIT with Run as Administrator
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
You see two Entries for "My Pictures" and "Personal", and if the don't say %USERPROFILE%\Pictures or %USERPROFILE%\Documents then change them to this.
You will also see entries that have "C:\Users\<username>\OneDrive\Pictures", and you can just delete them, similarly for "Documents".
Close down Regedit and restart File Explorer and it should now be resolved.
