tablet going to sleep instead of turning off screen

I use a Lenovo Miix tablet as a "kiosk". The tablet hangs on a wall, and never goes to sleep - but it turns off the screen after 1 minute inactivity. Touching the screen should light it up immediately.

All this worked wonderfully with Windows 8.1. After the move to Win10, touching the black screen does not light it up. It seems that Win10 puts the tablet to sleep, although the power options are clearly set to "Sleep: NEVER".

I wonder whether others have experienced this buggy behavior, which is inconsistent with previous Windows versions, and whether there is a workaround.

    many thanks in advance

The power toggle options seem to have a bug, nice how this made it into final build, huh? I already noticed this before on insider build and reported it about a two months ago. Another version of this bug is, that for example if you set monitor off to never and sleep to x minutes, the tablet stays on forever, and never goes to sleep.

Welcome in Windows as a (never-ending) beta.

Aargghhh! I was going totally crazy, thinking that it's me who is doing something stupid - I couldn't imagine that such an essential service would be buggy.

So, essentially this means that I will be wasting electricity on an always-on touchscreen until this is fixed. That's more than a bummer...

I was wondering whether anybody has any additional input on this issue. It seems incredible that this is not fixed or fixable. Particularly since Win8.1 behaved as advertised.

i have spent hours today trying to solve this including on chat and call with Windows.

i have a program which should run 24/7, it connects to Internet every 45 seconds
it goes to sleep after screen shuts down
i have teamviewer host installed, it logs out after screen shuts down

power settings are set to turn off cup never
i did not realise that power button was set to sleep, it is now set to do nothing

the only difference now is, team viewer shows logged in at all times, but when I connect I get a black screen then a connection error.
my other app is still going to sleep (it has a counter that stops incrementing)

i downloaded a stopwatch app, hoping it would keep things active. Stop watch keeps active but no help to other apps.

Coffee seems not to work in win 8.1, so presumably not 10.

    Any suggestions?
