Yeah, looks like that may be your only choice to run it. Because of the DRM in some versions of The Sims (and other games like GTA III), it won't be able to be played on Windows 10 unless EA pushes a patch removing SecuROM or whatever DRM they used back then. Seeing as how the game is fifteen years old, I don't see that happening, honestly.
