Streaming does have a slight difference comparative to sitting in front of a 120Hz massive display. However, I still find it and nearly everything else to be crisp and clear. As I mentioned above, changing up my GPU could handle the High tier of encoded stream better. Do note that network setup will have a heavy hand in this, but as a tester and consumer being able to play my console via my laptop is pretty amazing. If time allows, I will be testing it via LAN versus WLAN and hopefully the GPU switch could help. Result to date: streaming works very well. Your stream-to system hardware will not make big differences since the connectivity will drive the how fluid the transmission is running. As far as the encoding, I will have to find time to play around with that.
OK. I was at least able to test the differences between GPUs. There is a difference. My 755m processed the encoding more efficiently which made the image quality better in certain aspects. I am unable to get the network options such as packet loss and packet recovery to work in the Xbox app. I was hoping to see it work so I could test LAN versus WLAN. I may have some more time on my hands this evening if someone wouldn't mind finding the 'fine tuning' specs for an Intel Dual Band AC 7260. Windows 10 installed driver 17.13.12.1 with a date of 12/16/14. This could help accomplish what I can test given the amount of time I have in the evenings. I am suffering from a roughly two second flat line of network communications and know it is more than likely due to settings and/or drivers with my 7260.
Well finally got to try this on my gaming rig last night. The graphics quality was significantly better. I could easily use this for single player games or slower multiplayer games like golf. The downside was when I tried Call of Duty. Streaming that caused just enough of a delay to get me killed before I could pull the trigger. Overall though a really nice feature.
Thanks for reporting back. Since it's just me, I don't see me using it much. I have neighbors across the street in a two story house and I can see how that would be a nice feature.
Are you connecting wireless or wired? I played a little of the DLC Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and it was smooth. But it's not COD either.
