I was wondering, since scannow is running from the windows\system32 directory, is it checking the files in the windows\syswow64 directory?
Yes, a simple Google Search gives me a first result of the Microsoft forum saying

I ran dxdiag. No problems found. I then read through the DM Log Collector description and want to make sure you understand that my system does not crash nor suffer any BSOD issues; it just tries to load DirectX when I try to load a game. Which fails with the error message and then waits for the next instruction. At that point I usually just do some other computer activity with no problems.

    Hi tybee,

Could you make a screenshot of finished search results when you search for xactengine3_5.dll in C:\Windows and post the screenshot.

Do you use the CD player?

    (1) How do I search for xactengine3_5.dll? When I try to use Cortana to search for the file it will only search the web?? I found it before using cmd prompt c:\windows dir and looking thru the files. (2) I have not used the cd player. I'll start the chkdsk now.

In Windows Explorer in the right upper corner you see 'Search this PC', copy/paste xactengine3_5.dll in the textbox and it should search automatically, if not simply press enter :)

Please note that it may take time as there are quite some files & folders in the Windows directory.

I did as requested but found no file by that name; see attached. However, I also ran a cmd search as before which I included in the attached file that shows the file is there in the system32 dir.

Please be sure that you're in the correct directory in Windows Explorer :)
You're in the 'Quick Access' directory, you need to be in the C:\Windows\ directory.
