Spider Solitaire - "Unexpected Null Pointer Encountered"

I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and have successfully installed previous Windows 7 games, which seem to function without problems. However Spider Solitaire often returns message "Unexpected Null Pointer Encountered", usually on CTRL Z (to undo last move), and game is aborted.
How can this problem be resolved ?
    Appreciate any help

Same problem with Klondike version of the Windows 7 games. I have a new laptop that came with windows 10 already on it. Happens same way, can use control Z many times, but every once in awhile will give the "Unexpected Null Pointer Encountered". Have not been able to detect a pattern.
