One of the proposed updates is support for universal apps. I'm hoping a decent media player App becomes available for XBOX.

Maybe a Kodi app will appear it's pretty decent IMO and dang near everywhere anyway x86 VLC wouldn't hurt either ........OTOH Android VLC and the VLC Windows 10 run time app suck

One thing cool about Kodi in the TV Andoid app is it supports 4K & 4K HDR straight from the USB hdd to the TV
so I can download 4K SDR & 4K HDR video with the PC and put on the USB HD and plug it back in the TV some of that stuff is stunning on a decent 4K HDR TV or even just some of the independent 4K SDR WCG stuff blows regular bt709 TV and Blue ray away

I don't have enough space on my OneDrive for all my tunes. And Groove installed as a "trial" on the XBOX. I'm not paying to use it, or paying for online storage just to listen to my MP3 files. And Groove couldn't or wouldn't access the thumb drive plugged into my XBOX with the files on it. It's like your being herded deliberately to the cloud?

wouldent surprise me.......MS is pimping clouds now and maybe more control from thier end aka the Microsoft tyrants

Maybe its all part of a grand scheme & conspiracy by the elites >>>>dumming everything down to tard mobiles and windows appliances & a tard mainstream media so we are not an informed & vigilant citizenry then comes popularism> collectivism >tyrannical oligarchy of the 1%

.........sadly we might be well on the way to all that but they burned books, censored publications & media and the airwaves in the past and added the web in the present totalitarian regimes

I like the Groove Music app but I play loss less FLAC or WAV 16/44 or 24 bit music off metal here sourced mostly from the 24 bit safety masters at the labels or our projects and marketplace work all outside of the suicidal uniform loudness CD mixes

No suicide mp3 or iTunes here I only use it occasionally in noisy environments and I tossed most of it anyway.

I can always make suicidal mp 3 /aac playlists from the real deal anyway

It's certainly interesting. But I do not own an Xbox, nor do I want to for that matter.

(If you're reading this Phil Spencer, I want all Halo games on PC with M&K support, oh and ice cream with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, thanks.)

I kept waiting, hoping they would release them all to PC. Eventually I just gave in and bought an XBOX.

I don't believe I would want one even as a gift unless I could sell it.
