Probably not anything more than what Dude said, but it doesn't hurt to try making sure you have your computer drivers updated to the latest Win10 specific from the manufacturer's website, especially the Graphics driver.
When you troubleshoot compatibility, make sure you found the actual game and not a shortcut (not entirely sure if this makes a difference), and make sure you select compatibility for WinXP specifically. It may be that Win10 is just not very good at running XP games, Win8.1 wasn't for a lot of them.
Many thanks
CAN ANYONE ELSE HELP??
Thanks DustSailor,
I had the game working on XP.Win7, Win8 and 8.1, all ok, but not on Win10
It happens. I had Age of Empires II working on Windows 8, but it stopped working altogether on Win 8.1. Or maybe it was WIn7 to Win 8, I don't remember. The point is, I had to purchase it again using the steam store, and that enabled me to play it on any system. May be similar to your situation. You may never be able to play such an old game on the newer OS. Just the way it is sometimes.
I know what you mean, we had problems with the game so I splashed out with £2.50 in a previously used store, guess I will have to splash out again, he! he!
Thanks
Mike
RON used to work like a charm on Win 7 but since I have upgraded to Win 10, RON starts by showing the usual ads and videos in the beginning but as soon as it takes me to the game menu, it starts to blink continuously. I wonder if it is Win 10 or my graphics card which is to blame. I have recently updated drivers of my graphics card(Nvidia Geforce GT 320M) but that didn't help with the blinking. Any suggestions?
