    ASM106x Sata Driver

Hello I have an ASUS Maximus VII Hero...

It would seem ever since installing the Asmedia SATA Controller Driver V3.1.6.0 driver my 1 TB internal has issues.... as in it will be I quote from the event viewer "Disk 1 has been surprise removed"

    Anyone else encountered this before?

On the same boat. I have an external 2-bay dock that's hooked to an ASM1061 card. If I use that driver, it keeps hanging whenever I try to access the disks. Only way for it to work is to revert to the standard AHCI driver, but this way I can't access both bays at the same time.

I have the same issue with my Latitude 3440. I've replaced my DVD with a second bay with my original 1TB disk and replaced the original slot with a 250GB SSD. Whever I use my Intel(R) 8 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller driver.

I can only see in the event viewer "Disk 1 has been surprise removed.".

If I uninstall this driver and go for the Generic Drive... the system hangs until I give up and remove the drive and update the driver. I'm almost sure this is caused by Windows and the AHCI SATA driver. If I install Ubuntu back here everything works fine.
