    SATA3 HD on ASUS P7P55D-E Rev 1 MB


    I plan on replacing a older SATA WD HD. Will a SATA3 HD function on this ASUS P7P55D-E Rev 1 motherboard?

    I expect so. 6 Gbps SATA ought to be fully backwards compatible with 3 Gbps.

    You may need to stay at 2 TB or smaller, if the board doesn't support GPT.

    Considering the specs for the motherboard state that it has 2 SATA 3 6.0GB/s ports, I don't see why there would be a problem:
