The HP update support assistamt pushed out 2 Intel firmware/driver files of some sort a few days ago to this 2016 Haswell Core i5 PC in my specs with a 04/16 Build (UFEI BIOS) date and in DEV mgr.> System Devices I can see named ,
Intel 8 series C220 SMBus controler 10.1.1.13 10./28/18
and Intel Managment Engine Interface 11.0.0.1181 2/4/2016
in device manager that all appear to be USB controllers
OTOH I clean installed 14915 media I made last night and MS may have put these or any number of other drivers and or .inf files in here ,they put in the wrong internal Broadcom card Wi FI drivers last night and this thing would not connect this PC to my visible network
I had to fetch the (different working Broadcom ) drivers in the AU on my other boot drive off the web .
14905 prior to 14915 put correct WIFI drivers on a bare NTFS GPT formatted UFEI SSD clean install ....... but it all works well now anyway .
I may revisit HP driver support just because I can and if they roll in any Intel stuff or this stuff but (other) I will post what shakes out here .
FWIW this everyday computing spec Haswell Core i5 PC has an Intel H87 chipset and not the high cotton Intel chipset.
The installed chipset firmware ver. here is unknown to me outside of the OEM AMI UEFI BIOS ver.in Speccy .
This CPU averages 32° -33° C all day and much cooler than my 6 yr old AMD Phen. II - II x6 PC that this replaced doing the same workloads or being pushed which does not heat this one beyond a couple of deg. or so but got that 2010 vintage AMD Toasty and blowing toasty warm air out CPU cooler bottom when you pushed it or just whenever it felt like it and sometimes (often ) that PC sounded like it wanted to fly out the room and this thing is dead silent .
