    Hi,

Certainly but then it's Intel's nomenclature not mine or yours.

    Brink,

ASUS laptop, Win10, Display Adapter - for 82915g/gv/910gl Express Chipset Family.
The message was strange: "\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_1862 1043&REV_09\3&11583659&0&10 requires further installation."

I had shaky/blinking & dancing icons in Start Page and Show Hidden Icons - seemed to focus on ELAN pointing device, which I rarely use. Similar behavior seemed to indicate the Display.
While seeking further answers here, I thought maybe this will help people after me.
This comment probably doesn't belong here.

Wild goose chase in Device Mgr. - "....requires further installation." Are you kidding me?
Click on internal message, which takes you to Numus Software, PCI\VEN Vendor ID List Navigation Page 9 | driver-disk.com .
Useless website. I went to a database, then Intel, then found a clean installation at CNET.Requires further installation? With a link that is non-specific and not interactivae? s? There isn't one choice and I can't get anything to download.

Found drivers here: Intel GMA / Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com

My 45 minute search shouldn't be a secret or such a waste of precious time.

    Thank you.

    Hello Bella, :)

Yeah, that's the main reason why I like using the Intel® Driver Update Utility to help find the correct ones.

I agree with that john. I ran it today and it found one driver that needed updating. I installed the driver then rebboted, two hours later I checked again for available Intel Chipset Driver updates and it came up with the same one I'd installed two hours before.

To me that isn't a reliable app.

usually once a day my system crashes for seconds showing this message "display driver has stopped working and recovered" and my driver version is (20.19.15.4300). I want to know it's a windows problem or the driver or the device itself?

    Hi,

Happens with all versions of the graphics drivers as far as I know.
For me it only happens when I have a ton of tabs open in Internet Explorer and when the monitor then comes out of sleep mode the screen starts to flicker and the display driver crashes.

This has however nothing to do with Intel chipset drivers.

I do suspect this is a Windows problem as it's the Win program component that generates the error in Event Viewer.

    Cheers,

I did a quick search on Microsoft Update Catalog and there it is stated:
Windows 10 and later upgrade & servicing drivers: v8.15.10.2702
    Maybe worth a shot?

    Cheers
