Sony MDR-XB950BT bluetooth headphones not working on windows 10 PC

ok so Wednesday i went to best buy and bought a pair of Sony MDR-XB950BT bluetooth headphones, i can pair them with my PC fine but there's no sound, i've set them to my default sound device, still nothing.. i also ran a driver scan on my computer and it said that the driver called Realtek bluetooth 4.0 adapter was out of date so i updated it but that still made no difference,

they work fine with my phone so i don't think its a problem with the headphones, so i'm not sure if its a problem with my PC or if these headphones just aren't compatible with windows 10,

i still have the packaging and receipt so i can return them if i have to, but i'd like to know if there's anything else i can try first

i've also tried un-pairing them and re-pairing them multiable times to no avail

    Options to try.
Click on speakers on right of taskbar, click arrow pointing up to expand..... are they listed, if so select.

Open settings, type Bluetooth in find a setting box.....see attachment.

Check Bluetooth is turned on in box on action centre.

Hi Dencal, thanks for your reply, i have tried all these options but without success, i read the manual for the headphones again and it said that these headphones support the A2DP and AVRCP profiles, how can i tell rather or not by PC has either of these two bluetooth profiles?

This link should give you the info confirming support for your two profiles, plus link to obtain drivers.
