Dell Inspiron 15/5000 realsense camera not starting after sleep

I have a relatively new Dell laptop and the Windows 10 Windows Hello works very well, responds quickly on startup. Problem is that when the laptop wakens from sleep the camera does not start. I thus have to resort, invariably, to access by Pin number. Defeats the whole purpose of Windows Hello, sadly. Have reported the issue to Dell but without resolution so far. Can any of you smart characters offer a solution please?

I wish I could offer some magic bullet to shoot your problem, but I cannot. I can, however, observe that loss of peripherals is a pretty common side-effect upon waking from sleep. One somewhat draconian solution to your problem would be to jump into Power Options and set things so that sleep is impossible, or to run a tool like Don't Sleep or Mouse Jiggler which produce the same net effect.

I hear you Ed, but I use a laptop and value the sleep function which activates and de-activates with the lid. I'd prefer the suppliers to enable the functions to work as specified. I'm still hoping...Peter

OK, that makes sense. I'm hoping right along with you, then -- for the best outcome.
