Sorry, those command prompt screenshots aren't of C:

    Try cd ..
(twice) and you should be at C:
    Check that, then repeat.
And include explorer showing C: please.

IMHO TreeSizeFree is a better tool for the job.
    > Why have to manually figure out what WinDirStat says is "Unknown"?
    > Or have to manually search for hidden files/folders

when TreeSizeFree already includes it all? Two snapshots in time gives complete views of your disk to compare. No hidden files/folders or "Unknown" to chase down

Hello again everyone. Thank you all for the replies, today as per usual I have performed my daily disk clean up and got 6.88 gb back from temporary windows installation files. Which leaves me wondering how big the next temporary installation will be and why didn't I get any notifications for the last 3 days?

Check your update history but unless you are an insider I doubt it's from MS updates.

It was a windows Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607 which failed and now is installing again and eating away at my hard drive. I will try to uninstall it as soon as it finishes.
