Not working for me unfortunately on X99 Board , all drivers past 13 series see my HDD Raid Array as SSD's ..... still on 12.9.4.1000 here

Only running a single SSD and 2 WD Caviars in RAID 0 but as I said no problems at all with them.
Running an old mobo MSI P67A GD-65.

Windows sees my RAID array as a SSD though.

Yes it is not a problem for all but has been around for 2yrs since win8.1 according to the thread on Intel's Forums , nobody on WinRaid could help either , which surprised me.

***I see you edited above.....same issue as me , the 12.9.4.1000 work fine in Win10 and allow drives to be defragged etc.

If you removed the Intel Drivers , you may or may not be getting all the performance you can from your SSD.... as the Controller will be using the M$ builtin driver (2006?) instead on the main Controller too....
SSD's don't need that Intel RST Controller, even my sata drives show no slowdown what so ever. I used to always keep it updated for a long time, then after seeing some problems with it crashing after a windows update, I decided to try removing the Intel RST Controller, to see how my system would run. I also always have a Macrium Reflect image backup handy. My SSD's showed no slowdown at all. My sata drives showed no slowdown. You can also check on the internet where some places also tell you its not needed. If you have a Raid setup, then yes then it might be needed. :)

    1) Intel RST it not only needed for RAID configuration, it is also for "single" Drives
    2) Intel RST perfomes much better than the Basic SATA ACHI from MS

@ Thekelt: SATA Drives are very sensitive to your HDD´s, your system can get "unusable" or even lose all your data.
If Intel did not give an Official update, not even thru Windows Update, it means it is "Bug Free" and I would recommend to use last Official Drives.
ATTENTION: As you have "Source unknown" Drivers installed, it could happen that when you try to uninstall them, you will lose the access to your system HDD. So, before you do any change regarding iRST Drivers, make a System Backup, just for the case.

Thanks , I assume you mean on 15.2.0.1002 ? I can run Defrag manually with 12.9.4.1000, but did not try with 15.2 as the Array is Accelerated with an old 60GB SSD and with the HDDs seen as SSD's the Acceleration Tab in IRST Software was missing. Also with 12.9.4 I can use the optimize button in the Defrag Util to "trim" the OS SSD which I can't do with some other Drivers (13+14 series)

it runs ok from the 11.xxx series up to my current 15.xxx version.
TBH Kbird one of the first things I do after installing a new version is to uninstall the RST software, I've never found a use for it. All I'm really after are the drivers.

Many people do after setting the writeback cache on , this setting is "sticky" in the OS so removing RST does not
un-enable it again , but I usually keep it as I like to "Verify" the Array about once a month , and on my X99 system I need to use it to setup the Acceleration (SRT) of the Array with the SSD. (that isn't available if the HDD's are seen as SSD's though).

On X99 unless I have the right driver installed when doing a manual defrag I get a "no such interface supported (0x80004002)" error.

My X58A MB does not have these issues but the ICH10R Controller does not like 13.x drivers either , Win10 was getting corrupted (4 times) till I figured it out on WinRaid and downgraded the Driver to 11.7.4.1001, no issues since.

Thanks for the info Kbird, think I'll download a copy of 11.7.4.1001 as a fall back.
Hope it's still available on the Intel site.
