New Xbox one controller not recognized in my windows 10 PC help!

Hey guys, So I've just purchased an xbox one controller and an xbox wire so I could connect it to my gaming pc. However, when I plugged it in, it recognised the controller on device management, which showed up on the 'other' tab which showed two files named ''Unknown device'' with a yellow exclamation mark. Therefore, I looked on google and people have said to uninstall it and install drivers. So i installed these ones 'xb1usb.11059.0.140526x64.msi' as recommended by other people. After installation, I noticed that nothing happened and after that I looked back at device management and seemed like it did not recognize the controller anymore because nothing showed up. Therefore I tried uninstalling the driver but still nothing happens/shows up. Anyone can help me?

What is an "xbox wire"? The wireless receiver or just a USB cable? I just use an ordinary USB cable to connect my XBOX ONE controller to my PC. If you bought the Wireless USB receiver for PC, you may have to link the controller to it for it to work. I have to relink my controller back to my XBOX after using it on my PC. There is a button on the XBOX ONE you press and one on the controller to link them. The wireless adapter may require something like that the first time you use it.

Unfortunately I use a wired usb adapter, it's called a play and charge cable specifically for the x box controller :/ I'm not sure why it doesn't recognise it. I've also just reinstalled windows 10 on my pc. Still doesn't work. I have gone back to the place where I bought it and they said, they plugged it into an xbox and it works so I can't refund ...

I have one of those kits, only just recently bought it. I hadn't tried it on my PC until just now. I plugged it in and my XBOX Controller showed up in device manager under XBOX peripherals. I was also able to control my XBOX with it from the XBOX App. When I unplugged it and tried to control my XBOX wirelessly it wouldn't work. I had to relink it. That tells me it was working from my PC, not via the wireless connection. It's working fine for me. This is an XBOX ONE game controller right, not a 360 controller? Google shows that the 360 only gets power from the charge and go cable, no DATA.
