"Safe to remove" alert not popping up

    Hello,

I know this is something minor, but this issue just came out of nowhere and I have to idea what the cause is. When I choose the option to safely remove a USB or External HDD from the icon in the System tray, normally an alert would pop up saying that I can safely remove the hardware.

This alert however doesn't pop up anymore, even if I can remove the hardware without a problem.

    What's the problem here?

It happened to me yesterday after changing SATA mode from IDE to AHCI. It got fixed after rebooting though.

I always have it in AHCI mode. Rebooting doesn't fix it unfortunately. I don't get why this happened, it just worked fine before without me changing anything.

It seems to happen randomly and sometimes fixes itself, very weird. It's a pity Windows 10 still has these little flaws that happen without any clear reason.
